GAIMS invites expressions of interest from eligible GAIMS Elite student members for an opportunity to represent the organization at the Town Hall with candidates for the next United Nations Secretary-General.
The Town Hall will be hosted by the President of the United Nations General Assembly on 23 July 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
This engagement offers an important opportunity for civil society representatives to contribute questions and perspectives on key global health priorities, including:-
Universal health coverage
Health equity
Pandemic preparedness
Sustainable financing for health
Health and sustainable development- Other relevant global health issues
Eligibility
Applicants must:-
Hold a valid U.S. visa
Be an active GAIMS Elite student member
Be available to attend the event in New York Have a demonstrated interest in global health and sustainable development
Application Requirements
Interested members should submit:
1. A brief statement explaining their motivation to attend and represent GAIMS.
2. One or more key questions that could be presented under the identified global health agendas.
3. A copy of their valid U.S. visa for verification.
4. GAIMS Elite membership ID for verification.
Selected questions may be submitted for consideration for presentation during the Town Hall.
Important Conditions
GAIMS will only nominate selected members to represent the organization.
Nomination by GAIMS does not guarantee accreditation, admission, participation, or entry to the event.
Final participation will remain subject to approval and confirmation by the United Nations Headquarters and the event organizers.
This is a fully self-sponsored opportunity.
All expenses, including travel, accommodation, visa-related costs, local transportation, meals, insurance, and other associated expenses, must be borne entirely by the participant.
GAIMS will not provide financial assistance or reimbursement.
