GHESOG is a global community welcoming people from every discipline and culture seeking a deeper understanding in varied aspects of health. We believe passionately in the power of awareness and knowledge to change lives, attitude and ultimately world for better. In GHESOG we are building a platform for people be able to seek information from the inspiring doctors and thinkers all around the world and create a community of curious souls to engage ideas with each other. Today, people around the world try to find the information on various health related aspects but end up getting confused or with ambiguous results. We at GHESOG try to provide this complex information in a relatively easy way with the help of our panel of experts. We consider it a privilege to leverage our knowledge for the best of society. As we continue to evolve, our commitment will always be the same, help people find information they need. The world has changed rapidly after the pandemic struck which makes awareness regarding health aspects of paramount importance.
AIM :
We, as a society, aim to serve as a strong voice for civil society in India and work hand in hand with the International Relations Council of our mother organisation GAIMS. We wish to provide a platform for students to share ideas and/or experiences in global health and to organise meetings and other events to raise awareness of global health within the university.
Ideas can be spread further afield by giving students opportunities to present their work; through GAIMS’ monthly newsletter ‘GAIMS CIRCULATE’ where society members and their international peers would contribute research papers, viewpoints and news articles.
Global health has become increasingly important in medical education, and there is a growing student interest in matters related to global health, including participation in experiential learning activities abroad ! In order to enhance the impact of our society through global health initiatives and active participation from medical students all across the globe, we aim for a convergence of thinking on what constitutes health systems strengthening and the role of different agencies to make universal coverage with affordable health care a reality.
VISION :
- To improve health globally through integrated; research, education, training, service, and address the causes of disease and health inequities at multiple levels.
- Promoting well-being and eradicating stoppable diseases, disability, and death.
- Training future Medics of global health stakeholders
- Engagement of community who are not officially part of the medical academic background.
